Hearing Aids are Too Expensive!

I love helping people “hear again” but when I was working for others, I found it frustrating that most of the people who came in for testing, who needed hearing aids, couldn’t afford them. The retail price for hearing aids was ridiculous!

I knew there had to be a better way and I opened the Affordable Hearing Store determined to help everyone who wanted to “hear again” by making top quality hearing aids affordable for all. An item that is so important to the quality of life for so many people shouldn’t be priced as a “luxury” item.

We start with a free hearing test because we don’t want the cost to keep you from being properly tested. We then take the time to explain the test results and answer your questions. Together we consider your needs, and your budget, and come up with the right product at the right price.

Please don’t think we sell cheap hearing aids. The hearing aids we sell are brand new, top quality products from several of the best companies in the business. They all come with a Manufacturer’s Warranty and a Loss and Damage policy. These are the exact same product sold by several of our competitors at two or three times our price.

The difference is the margin.  We make far less per pair than our competition, but we make it up in volume.

For us, Affordable is more than our name, it’s our mission. Working with local Lions Clubs we obtain free hearing aids for seniors unable to buy new ones. There is a $270 charge to cover fitting, ear molds, batteries and follow-up visits.

If you ever thought hearing aids might help, but then heard the price and said “no way”, then we need to talk. We will work with you, and within your budget, to get you the help you need to “Hear Again”

  • My husband, Larry Slessman, is in need of hearing aids. He has already had two qualified hearing tests, one at Elkhart Clinic and one in Mishawaka at a hearing specialists. He has a copy of both audio testing. While we are above the income to apply to H-E-A-R.org, we are on a limited income and if he is to get aids, must do so as economically as possible. I am looking for a set of aids that he can adjust to environment, noise, workshop noise, etc.

Could you advise me as to what costs may apply to a set of hearing aids with the above mentioned requirement? I understand you have a fitting fee, so I am looking for a cost basis that includes that fee. And also wish to know what the time frame would be before he would be fitting with aids once they have been ordered?

Thank you for your prompt reply. I can be reached at marthaann3453@gmail.com. Thank you in advance for your assistance. Annie Slessman

    • Sorry, we didn’t realize anyone had posted here. Right now our entry level set is $1,995 but I’m in the middle or negotiating some better prices and we hope to have a pair available for about $1,600.

Please give us a call at 574-387-4215 and make an appointment for Elkhart or Mishawaka and I’ll be happy to work with you.
